About

Bored Man Overboard is a Swedish septet hailing from Stockholm. The band's name is inspired by the book "How to be Poor" by George Mikes, which offers a satirical perspective on the discontent that often accompanies wealth. Their music is rooted in alternative rock, while also incorporating elements from post-rock, shoegaze, post-punk, ambient, and classical genres. The band's sound can be described as a narrative that weaves together themes of angst, nostalgia, and mortality.

Formed in 2007 during their high school years, the band was initially influenced by folk rock. Until late 2010, they released several unofficial EPs before securing a record deal with the German cult label Hazelwood Vinyl Plastics, along with a distribution agreement with Rough Trade. After embarking on three extensive tours across Europe, the band entered a hiatus in 2012.

In the years that followed, they redefined their sound and shifted their focus toward experimental songwriting. After a lengthy recording process, the band released their comeback album, "Home," in 2020. This album was co-produced and mixed by Brandon Eggleston and mastered at Dynamic Sound Service by Blake Bickel.

Subsequently, the band put out a compilation titled "Curtains, Not Light: Demos 2011-2018," along with a single-format EP called "Bread."

When performing live, the instruments played by the band members can vary from show to show.
